Longs Peak after Dark

Longs Peak After Dark

Longs Peak After Dark

I made this shot well after sunset perched high on a rock outcrop on Trail Ridge at about 12,000 feet. There was a soft pink glow (Earth Shadow) and a band of clouds enveloping Longs Peak. I took a 5 minute exposure at ISO 100 and f8. The extreme drag in the shutter allowed the clouds to foam around the summit and gives the image a painterly feel! Next post will be new images and a link to a new Photo Journal from Ricketts Glen State Park, so check back soon!! Joe
