The Wilmington International Photography Awards and Longwood Gardens for the weekend
Amber and myself spent the weekend in Wilmington, Delaware. I was one of the 3 judges for the Pictorial Category in this years 76th annual Wilmington International Photography Awards. It was a really great experience and all the members of the DVCC were absolutely wonderful. We got into Wilmington on Friday afternoon and after checking into our hotel, we went to the judges reception where we were able to meet ll of the other judges (6 in total) as well as all the fine folks who worked so hard to put this awesome event on. On Saturday, I spent the day judging the prints from 8am until about 4 in the afternoon while Amber treated herself to a spa treatment in downtown Wilmington. We went through over 1,250 prints and let me tell you there was some amazing work from over 30 countries. It wasn’t easy picking the medal winners for each category, but we got through it and I was finally able to get back to the hotel for a quick shower and then off again the the judges banquet.
On Sunday morning, we rose pretty early, packed up, had breakfast and headed up to Longwood Gardens for a few hours before having to get back home and pick up Phoenix from Grandma and Grandpa’s house. I was really excited to see him and I forget how much I miss that Little guy until I am awayfor a couple of days. At least this time around, I got to spend it with Amber and not alone in the woods. Here a few picks I knocked off over the weekend. Joe
