Weekend Off and Lighroom 2 !
Colorado Columbine processed with adobe Lightroom 2. Notice how I have made local adjustments to the center of the image using the Local Adjustments Paintbrush tool as well as the dark vignetting in the image applied using the post crop tool under the Vignette module.
I took the weekend off from photography to spend some much needed time with my family. It was really refreshing not to be shooting or even thinking about photography for a couple of days and I now feel refreshed and ready for a week of image prepping, critiques, writing and workshop preparation. Next weekend is our “Chesapeake Bay Experience” workshop and I really can’t wait to get down on the shore and spend a few days with the group making new images along the Blackwater River and some out of the way locations.
I finally made it around to downloading and installing Lightroom 2. It is a much improved version and has got some really nice upgrades. What I like most is the Local Adjustment Brush. This function is much like the popular Nik Viveza plug-in and allows you to locally adjust brightness, contrast, clarity, saturation and vibrancy to name a few. The brush size is easily adjusted and you also have the ability to feather your selections for seamless adjustments.
Lightroom 2 also streamlined Photoshop CS3 integration. ” Enjoy tight integration with Adobe Photoshop software for streamlined use of Smart Objects, panorama stitching, high dynamic range (HDR) functionality, multiple layer work flow, and more. See your edits automatically updated in Lightroom”. Sweet !
